The Biotechnology and Metals Conference was founded in 2009 to foster cooperation and advancement in environmental biotechnology and environmental protection. Established by Prof. Jana Sedláková, PhD. and Alena Luptáková, PhD., the conference brings together researchers, academics, and industry professionals to address key challenges related to biotechnological approaches for removing metals and other harmful substances from the environment.
Deliberately kept small in scale, the conference was designed to encourage genuine scientific exchange and lasting professional relationships in a warm, collegial setting. Since its founding, it has grown into a valued platform for scientific exchange. It hosted participants from across Central and Western Europe as well as Asia, creating an internationally connected yet intimately focused community around its shared research interests.
