We are pleased to announce the 7th International Scientific Conference Biotechnology and Metals, bringing together researchers and professionals from academia and industry to discuss the latest advances in environmental technology and biotechnology and their application in raw materials processing, bioleaching, metal recovery, waste treatment, and environmental protection. The conference offers a warm and collegial setting where lasting professional — and personal — relationships are built alongside meaningful scientific exchange.

We warmly invite you to join our international community in the beautiful High Tatras, Slovakia, on 8–9 October 2026.

Programme Highlights

As part of the conference programme, an optional hands-on workshop at Fister Crystal will take place on the afternoon of 8 October. The company specializes in precision crystal cutting and craftsmanship. Participants will have the opportunity to engrave their own pattern on a crystal box — a unique souvenir to take home. Places are limited to 25 participants and subject to an additional fee. Further details are available on the registration page.

The Material Metamorphosis – within this year’s programme, we are also delighted to feature a special presentation by high school students from Secondary Vocational School of J.A.Baťa, Svit, showcasing dresses and garments crafted entirely from waste materials — a creative reflection on sustainability and environmental awareness.

Mine Water Geochemistry and Mine Water Sampling Short Course – the week following the conference, a dedicated short course on acid mine drainage will be organised in Kosice and led by prof. Christian Wolkersdorfer, offering a valuable hands-on learning experience for researchers, students, and professionals in the field. Please note that participation in the workshop is organised and paid separately from the conference registration. Full details, including fees and registration, will be available on a dedicated webpage, the link to which will be shared here once ready. Preliminary information can be downloaded here.
